SERENNA: A SURVIVOR OF A BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT. She was born on December 17, 2011.
A letter from Serenna’s mom:
Serenna has spent almost 4 months of her life sedated and intubated, well over 300 transfusions, 3 spinal taps, 4 bone marrow biopsies, her spleen removed , a feeding tube placed in her stomach, a liver biopsy, cholangiogram, 9 weeks of disease treating chemotherapy, 22 days of pretransplant chemotherapy.
I can’t even begin to count the number of X-rays, echos, MRIs, and cat scans. She has had 3 central line placements not to mention the impact this has had on our family being torn apart, at one time scattered to 3 different states, myself and Serenna in North Carolina, James in Virginia and our son Damon in Massachusetts to be cared for by family.
SHE NEEDS YOUR HELP:

ON MARCH 28 HE WAS TAKEN FROM HIS CRIB AT THE REGIONAL HOSPITAL.

THE LAST INFORMATION KNOWN ABOUT LORGE ( a little boy from Haiti):
Updated information:
I wanted to let you know that Lorge Hilliare, the boy with the horrible tumor wrapped around his spine, is coming to the US with me on 9/13/07 to be brought to Tufts N.E. Medical to be evaluated for intervention or cure based on the diagnosis by specialists at that hospital. Thanks goes to Rita Russo in our office for asking one of the doctors that was working on a little boy from Haiti named Junior if he could help Lorge. The doctor asked that Lorge come to the US and maybe he could help extend Lorge’s quality of life at the very least. Mr. Ray Tye, whom we are honoring at our next St. Boniface Haiti dinner on 10/10 is paying the medical costs. SBHF is paying for his travel arrangements. Lorge will be living with a host family from Pembroke while he is in the US.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR MATIAS IN GREECE OR EUROPE
Friends; We need your cooperation, we are looking for Matias.
He is 21 years old, Argentinean, there is no word of his location for the past month, he was visiting Greece to study in the Athens College.
It is going to be very difficult to find him but we are putting together a large campaign to do so. For this reason we are in need of your help.
We want to get in contact with people who live or know people that live in Greece or in Europe, so we can expand the look for him carefully and with patience.
We need everyone’s help.

PS: It is very important to have the participation of the entire community due to the possibility that he may be in Athens, Greece, Europe or anywhere in the world.
Matias’ tracking (as far as we know)
He traveled, last December, with who was his girlfriend at the moment, in order to study Greek. At this moment, he speaks that language fluently.
For some reason, he was homeless during a period of time, but he always kept in touch with his family who live in Greece (aunt and uncle) and in Argentina (parents), by writing mails or talking on the cell phone, which he now does not answer.
He had finished his University scholarship in July of 2006, and when he disappeared, he was working in a restaurant.
His family is trying to look for some reasons for his disappearance. They think that he was a little anxious in their last conversations and that his e-mails showed some kind of strange mood, but it wasn’t very notorious.
His Athens’ relatives visited his apartment and all his stuff was there, including his ID card, so it’s not very clear where he could go. He only said that he was going to have dinner with a group of Spanish boys that couldn’t be identified.

He was staying in Athens, Greece, since January 2006, studiyng since he had an scholarship in Greek Language, and he finished his studies in June, in Athens University.

CAMPAIGN: SOLVED.
LODGINGS FOR GIULIANA IN ROME:
Dear friends : Giuliana has finally found lodgings for her stay in Rome where she will undergo a bone marrow transplant.
The search was hard. We now feel it is necessary to improve communication among people and organizations who want to do things on others’ behalf.
We consider that becoming part of this Global Community Services Network that is constantly achieving success, is the best way of increasing or improving communication.
We want to thank all the people who have helped us and ask them to tell their friends about us and encourage them to Join us and help us enlarge this net.
We will pray for Giuliana’s recovery and will let people interested in the case know about the course of her treatment.

Giuliana is doing very well, the transplant was successfully done. She is still in Rome for full recovery. Her sister ( the donor) is doing well too. We are still waiting for more good news. thanks all for your interest. GCSN.
